Starts 6th October, every Saturday for 6 weeks, 11am - 1pm.
A six week course introducing meditation and Buddhist teachings.
We teach two Buddhist meditation practices: Mindfulness of Breathing, for developing awareness, integration and clarity of mind; and Mettā Bhāvanā (“development of loving kindness”), which brings about a gentle but radical transformation of our emotional world. Each week we alternate between the two practices.
In addition to learning meditation, we will introduce traditional teachings of the Buddha in a way that is accessible and practical to everyday life in the modern world.
This is a 6 week course. Spaces are limited, and booking in advance is required. The cost for the whole course is £30.
We will announce new course dates on this page once they are decided. In the meantime, we have several weekly drop-in classes suitable for newcomers that you could come to.
There's no special requirements, just whatever is comfortable to sit in.
The cost covers the entire course, and it is best to come every week. If you'd like to come but there is one or two weeks you can't make, please contact us before booking.
The course is aimed for people who are completely new to meditation and Buddhism, and suitable for everyone, regardless of your religious beliefs.
Unlike most of our classes, our courses have a set fee to ensure there is a commitment to attend. We keep it as low as possible to cover our costs, but if you can't afford the fee, we may be able to offer a reduced rate. Please contact us to discuss.
